Stand By YOU!

Mad Love to you Olivia.  I'm forever in your corner!!!

Somewhere within my journeys

I have heard others say

That time heals everything

And that love can take madness away.

They say it’s because there are reasons

A purpose under Heaven for all things.

But there are days when time simply cannot heal

All the pain that this world can bring.

Like anything else within this life,

There will always be things that are terribly unfair.

But in those times you must always know,

That you are loved and that we care.

Never allow the evil of ill times,

To break your spirit of all it can be

For it is during these moments that you should believe

That only faith will set you free.

There will be times when you may feel like giving up

And that all the hope you once had has gone,

But in those times, always know that we are here

To help you carry on.

So during those days when you are broken

And you feel that your heart cannot take the pain,

We lend you our shoulders and carry you through.

Until you are strong enough to walk on your own, again.

No matter how it may seem,

Always know that we are with you each step of the way

So never be afraid, always be strong

Because we pray for Olivia’s recovery and all of you each day.

* Especially written and dedicated to: Gloria, Sam, Gabrielle and Olivia Santarelli *
Olivia, you are always in my prayers, Sweetheart.  You will make it through this.  Keep strong, baby girl!!!  Below is a special "Puppy Poem" just for you.  I love you!!!

A Puppy Poem

I love it when it’s time to sleep.
Cuz Olivia’s bed is so soft and deep.
I always sleep right beside her, in the centre groove.
So that she keeps me safe and can hardly move.

Because of how I sleep across her,
I trap her legs, so she’s snuggled in tight.
And this is how we fall asleep together each and every night.

No one can disturbs us or dares intrude
Until it’s morning time when Olivia and I are hungry
And we want some food.

Usually I am the one who is hungry first,
So I will sneak up to Olivia slowly and I begin.
I bark softly and then I start to lick her,
First her arm, then her chin.

She wakes up slowly, rubbing her eyes
Laughing and giggling, she looks at me and cries
I know you’re awake you silly thing,
Give me 5 more minutes
And then our day can begin.

But the morning sun is here and I’m awake,
It’s time to play, I cannot sleep anymore.
Olivia please wake up for goodness sake!

So I continue on and she finally gives in,
She says I’m cute and that is why I get my way.
So I help her get dressed so we can play.

Thank you Lord, for giving me,
This human little girl, named Olivia that I can see.
The one who hugs and holds me tight,
And allows me to share her bed with me at night.

  2. Dear Gloria,
Being a mother myself, I cannot begin to understand all it is you must be going through with your daughter Oliva. It's a tough time but this is when you need to gather strength from all those around you. Family, friends, nurses, doctors and yes, even strangers. It is their guidence, prayers and support that will make this time more effective for you. You WILL get through this, cuz there's nothing else you should be believing right now. God Bless and Peace be with your family.

  3. Olivia we are all praying for a quick recovery. So stay strong and don't ever give up. You will beat this thing. Before you know it, you will be playing with a new puppy. That will always make you smile. Mom & Dad - Don't ever let her see you frown. Her strength and happiness derives from yours. Remember that!!!

  4. To my Dearest friend(s) Gloria, Sammy, Gab & Olivia:

The words I've written on my blog for you, along with those I write here to you now; could never possibly explain how truly sorry I am for all that you have gone through /continue to go through during this difficlut time in your lives. But always know, that I am here for you and pray that all will become normal again soon.

Gloria, you were one of the very first people who supported my writing and pushed me toward making my life happen as a Writer. Well, it's finally happening and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your constant positivity and "cute threats* about kicking my butt, from here to kingdom come, if I ever stopped writing or persuing my dreams.

It was the push I always needed and I'm so grateful to have people like you in my life to keep me going.

Today, I offer you the same: My support, my words, my love, my strength, my prayers and my un-dying security in our friendship. I am always here for you, please know that. Whatever it takes to get you guys through this, I AM IN!!!! Never doubt in God's power and love for all that is good.

I don't know what lessons we all had to learn from Olivia's journey, but trust in the fact that there was a purpose (however cruel and insane it is). The bond you all now share as a family is unbreakable. The bond you share with all those who love you, is quite the same.

I love you more than words can say, my dear friend. And I am here to hold your hand, every step of the way!!!

  7. Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to give everyone an update on this blog post and on Olivia.

Earlier this evening, I was reminded what truly is important in this life and the reason I ever decided to put pen to paper and write at all: It's the possibility of bringing joy & happiness to another's life.

Tonight I received incredible validation that this may actually be true. Little Olivia decided to surprise me with a beautiful candid shot of herself. She decided to give me a beautiful smile, while holding a frame. Within it lies the words I used to form a poem....written just for her.

I completely broke down when I saw it. Even now, my eyes swell with tears as I write this post to all of you. Love one another, my dear friends. Live each moment out loud and proud, simply because you are here. For you may never know what tomorrow truly can bring.

"I love you with all my heart Olivia. You will never know what it meant to me to get your picture today. I am so blessed to have you here with me. That I was able to bring a smile to those gorgeous lips is incredible. Don't worry Baby Girl...we got this thing beat! So you just keep strong and believe"
